hey internet friends, i have been resently listening to some excellent sermons by Mark Driscoll from Mars Hill Chruch in Seattle. They have a great website and a ministry team that desires to preach about Jesus Christ and what he really means for human life. You can download the sermons for free! I listen to them in the morning while I get ready for school, eatin' my breakfast, or putting on some make-up .... check it out. There have been some really powerful messages on marriage, sex, and right now Mark is preaching through 1 Corinthians. Their website is: www.marshillchurch.org just click, menu, dowloads and they have ALL their sermons broken down into little sub-topics ... alright Word up Friends! Literally!

Thanks for showing us somewhere to go to listen to God's word being preached. Another great web site and preacher that Micah and I listen to is James MacDonald from walk in the word. There website is walkintheword.com You can listen to each days broad cast and then down load them on iTunes!

Friend, let us share with you our hope:
Jesus is the Son of God who lived with God before the heavens and the earth were made. The Bible tells us that God IS love. That means that God doesn't just love, but that He IS love. God is love. And love is such an thing that must manifest (love must act, otherwise it isn't love). God created everything that you see around you to manifest His love to us.
After giving us His Law (the ten commandments among others) He proved to all men that we are evil in heart and do not love God. Ask yourself, "Do I love God?" Jesus said if you loved Him you would obey Him (again, love in action). But the world has turned from God and even says there is no God, contrary to everything implanted in us and around us, which testifies of Him! This is the highest form of rebellion against our holy and awesome creator.
And then something happened. "God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us." (Romans 5:8). Even though we, in our rebellion, deserved hell eternal, God sent His Son Jesus to earth to die for our sins, in our place, because it was written in the Law that "Without the shedding of blood there is no forgiveness of sins." (Leviticus 17:11, Hebrews 9:22) Either man will die for sins or there can be a substitute.
This substitute was promised from days of all, called the Messiah (savior) or Christ. He would come and save His people from their sins (Matthew 1:21). Jesus was the Messiah, Jesus the Christ! Our calender is based on His life and death, and at the turn from BC to AD, Jesus came to earth and suffered in our place on a cross, was buried for three days then rose again, just as the Scriptures said the Messiah would do (Psalm 16:10)! In His earthly life, Jesus fulfilled all 333 prophecies concerning the Messiah, like where He would be born and how etc. Jesus of Nazareth was the Christ.
The gift of eternal life is free for ANY who call upon the name of the Lord. If you admit you are a rebel against God and a breaker of His Law (a sinner), then plead for a pardon from Christ, who is alive today and willing to forgive you! God promises to not turn away any who asks for salvation.
Asking Christ to save you means a new life, "The old is gone, the new has come." (2 Corinthians 5:17). That means you now put to death the old man which is in rebellion against God and are new and alive, a child of God!
You ask us why we love God so? "Behold, what manner of love the Father hath bestowed upon us, that we should be called the sons of God." (1 John 3:1) It is because God has loved us so much that He sent Jesus to die in our place, that we would be saved from hell and sin and now are worthy to be called children of God! It is wonderful and it is free, and you can have it!
I pray that God will open up your heart to understand these things and allow His love to be shed abroad in your heart, that whoever reads this will be saved and made a new creation, no longer dead but alive! You can know Jesus personally today!

Thanks Eli! My life is based on the a belief in the bible, the life death and resurrection of Jesus, which is found in the bible, the gift of his holy spirit who helps us to live right and being a part of the greater community of people who believe the same - which is the church.

wow, it's great that you want to find out more, and there are sooo many resources, first off what ever questions you have, ask away, I might not be able to answer them all, but I can try ... eli's blog is devoted to christian teaching, so you could check that out, but if you are really interested in what I believe just begin by reading the bible. You don't have to start at the beginning. A great place to start with is with the gospels, like Matthew, Mark, Luke our John. And if your stuck finding a bible, check out www.biblegateway.com they have the whole bible in different translations online and you can look up any part with a couple clicks ... it's best to find a real bible though.
